History
Hillsong's Australian Christmas albums (2001 onward, later We Have a Saviour 2012 and Christmas: The Peace Project 2017) and Chris Tomlin's live-recorded Glory in the Highest: Christmas Songs of Worship (2009, No. 1 Billboard Holiday Albums) established Christmas as a modern-worship album category; Integrity Music branded the lane literally with Paul Baloche's Christmas Worship (2013) and Vol. 2 (2015); Tomlin's Adore (2015) yielded "Noel" (with Lauren Daigle) and "He Shall Reign Forevermore", which entered church repertoire via Passion; Matt Redman (These Christmas Lights, 2016), Phil Wickham (Songs for Christmas 2010, Christmas 2019, Hallelujah! It's Christmas! 2023) and the Gettys' Irish-folk Christmas tours carried the wave, and annual Christmas worship tours and church setlists keep it a standing seasonal repertoire.
