Streetpunk Revival

Streetpunk Revival is the 1990s and 2000s return of Oi!, UK82 and first-wave street punk as a self-conscious modern style. It keeps gang choruses, chant hooks, working-class imagery and simple guitar attack, but often adds cleaner production, faster tempos and international touring networks. The revival could sound melodic, bootboy, hardcore-adjacent or Celtic-influenced, but the goal was usually the same: make old street punk feel present-tense again.
History
The revival grew through labels, punk festivals, zines and transatlantic scenes where older Oi! records met newer bands. Oxymoron, The Casualties, Bombshell Rocks, Street Dogs, The Briggs, Roger Miret and the Disasters, Booze & Glory and Bishops Green each offered a different version of the old street language. It also helped reframe the style for later listeners by emphasizing singalong songwriting, scene pride and anti-fascist or working-class identity in many corners.
